Munger passed away peacefully in a California hospital at the age of 99. His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in the world of finance and investing.

The Surprising Surge of Munger Meme Coin

In a peculiar twist typical of the rapid-paced crypto world, the demise of Munger sparked an unexpected reaction in the cryptocurrency space. A meme coin, aptly named $Munger, appeared on the blockchain this week and astonishingly surged by nearly 30,000% on Tuesday, the day of Munger’s passing, effectively multiplying its value by over 300 times.

A Swift Decline: Munger Coin’s Brief Lifespan

However, the surge of $Munger was short-lived. Without any substantial community support or backing, the meme coin faced a dramatic plunge. According to DEX Screener, despite its staggering one-day spike, the coin quickly trended towards zero the following day. As of the last report, the market value of $Munger had dwindled to less than $10,000, with virtually no trading volume.

Munger’s Longstanding Critique of Cryptocurrencies

Charlie Munger’s skepticism and criticism of cryptocurrencies were well-known. He consistently expressed his doubts about investing in Bitcoin, labeling it as “the dumbest investment” he had ever seen. Munger predicted that most cryptocurrencies would eventually become worthless.

“Don’t let me invest in Bitcoin. It’s the dumbest investment I’ve ever seen, and most of them (cryptocurrencies) will go to zero.”

Sadly, with Munger’s passing, we may never witness a change in his stance on cryptocurrencies.
